Imam Khamenei made the remarks in an address to officials, ambassadors of Islamic countries and people from various walks of life on the occasion of Fitr Feast.
Imam Khamenei said unity and checking discard are to the benefit of all Muslim countries.
“Through solidarity on the axis of Palestine, that is the prime issue of the world of Islam, one should avoid its getting less important or putting into oblivion.”
“An American Senator’s support for Sunnis over Shias, at a time when they oppose Islam in principle and are hostile to Islamic countries, is nothing but conspiracy and mischievousness; this raises serious concern and care; however, officials of the Islamic countries take the hostilities for granted,” Imam Khamenei said while referring to enemy attempts to sow seeds of dissension on ethnic, religious, and patriotic grounds.
While referring to bloody clashes in different parts of the Muslim world like Yemen, Syria, Iraq and North Africa, Imam Khamenei said, “Disunity and dispute are harmful to Islam and the Islamic nation. On the contrary, proximity of the Islamic countries and their avoidance to use forces against each other are in accordance with divine wisdom, favoring all Islamic countries.”
“This is the true meaning of unity: Fasting Shiias come to the streets so gloriously as a gesture of solidarity and sympathy with Palestinians who are Sunnis,” Imam Khamenei said, while appreciating high public turn out on the International Quds Day.
Imam Khamenei cautioned against “big danger” of underestimating and forgetting the issue of Palestine and said, “Palestine is the prime issue of the world of Islam but certain Islamic states act in such a way to make sure Palestine issue is taken for granted and put into oblivion.”
Also referring to usurpation of Palestinian Islamic state and pulling a nation out of their home and land, Imam Khamenei said, “According to Islamic Jurisprudence, at a time when an enemy dominates Islamic land, all Muslims will have the duty to fight and wage Jihad in any possible manner; due to the same reason, today, fighting Zionist regime is the duty of the world of Islam in all.”
While criticizing certain Muslim countries for avoiding to get engaged in the campaign, Imam Khamenei said Iranian nation is vigilant and aware to abide by its duty. “The world of Islam is in need of unity and coalition and Muslim nations are almost always in solidarity; those are governments that should abide by their duties.”
Before Imam Khamenei’s speech, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani said, “Any competition should now be restricted to serving masses, implementation of laws and achieving lofty national goals; through unity and action on the guidelines of the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution, we should strive for vibrancy of production and elimination of unemployment.”
Also referring to recent terrorist incidents in Tehran, Hojjatoleslam Rouhani said, “I am thankful to whole Iranian nation for courageously and clearly standing terrorists, while maintaining unity; I am also thankful to those who build strategic weapons for the country and all those who use the arms against enemies.”
He said the Islamic Republic of Iran revealed just a tiny portion of its defensive might in reaction to terrorists. “The armed forces, government and people all follow the Supreme Leader of Islamic Revolution, showcasing national unity and might to the world people.”
Also praising high public turnout in the International Quds Day rallies, President Rouhani said public rallies on Quds Day inspires hope in Muslims and Palestinians and proves that eventually, right is victorious over the wrong.
