Japanese PM condemns terror attacks in Tehran

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on Thursday condemned terror attacks in Tehran, which killed at least 13 people the previous day.

In a condolence message delivered to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Abe said, "On behalf of the Japanese government and people, I would like to extend sincere condolences over the terrible attacks," according to the Foreign Ministry.

"I resolutely condemn this despicable act of terrorism that targeted innocent Iranian citizens," said Abe, expressing Japan's heartfelt solidarity with the Iranian people.

"Terrorism cannot be justified for any reason. Japan will continue to fight terrorism in close coordination with the international community," the Premier added.

According to media reports, suicide bombers and gunmen attacked the Iranian parliament and Imam Khomeini's mausoleum in Tehran on Wednesday, killing at least 13 people. The ISIS terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
