Sadr also called on the Iraqi women to stage a similar protest rally on Thursday in a move to convey the message of support from the Iraqi people for the people of Bahrain.
He added that present conditions in the region are going toward a direction that could have unpleasant consequences for all regional countries.
The senior cleric also urged the Iraqi clerics and religious students to gather together in front of Bahrain consulate in Najaf.
He issued the statement after the Bahraini security forces attacked Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Ahmed Qassim’s house and arrested him.
Meanwhile, during a protest rally held in Manama after Sheikh Qassim's arrest, Bahraini security forces attacked the Ayatollah's supporters and killed five, injured more than a 100 and detained 286 people.
Sadr added regretted that the current oppression against the defenseless people of Bahrain is taking place with the support of the 'wicked' government of US and with its direct aid for the government of Bahrain.
Many religious and political figures of Iraq protested on Tuesday against recent measures taken by Bahraini government’s the people and clerics of Bahrain.

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The leader of Sadrist Movement, Muqtada al-Sadr on Tuesday called for a peaceful gathering in front of Bahrain's embassy in Baghdad on Wednesday to protest to Manama's measures against people and religious leaders of Bahrain.
