Senior Shia cleric urges support for Islamic seminaries' official media

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - "Most news agencies are partial in selecting their news stories and highlight what is crucial to serve their own benefits and censor what is against them; trustworthy media that publish the realities of the world are hard to find these days." said Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi.

In a meeting with Hujjat al-Islam Sayyed Mofid Husseini Kouhsari, Head of Islamic Seminaries' Office for International Relations, Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi, a senior Shia scholar stressed that the world today is becoming more interconnected, a global village and the situation is changing; "We need to adapt ourselves to such new conditions." The Shia cleric added.

The revered source of emulation further reiterated, "The world is ready to embrace Islam as well as Ahlubayt's (as) doctrine since the number of Ahlubayt's (as) followers is increasing every year."

Asserting that the seminary of Qom is the most influential and important seminary in the Islamic world, Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi said, "The seminary of Qom is more extensive than Egypt's Al-Azhar or the Islamic universities in Medina and Riyadh in Saudi Arabia. It's our duty to introduce the world to the seminary of Qom and its activities."

The senior Shia scholar also made some remarks about Hawzah News Agency, the official media of Iranian seminaries, in which he urged support for the news agency. "The majority of news agencies are partial and highlight what they think is crucial to serve their benefits and censor what is against them; trustworthy media that publish the realities of the world are hard to find these days."

"We expect Hawzah News and other official media in Islamic seminaries to have honesty and integrity in their activities." Grand Ayatollah concluded.
