Trump's achievements after 100 days of his administrations

Despite the optimistic statements of White House Press secretary Sean Spicer about the Trump team, like the president himself, is "very proud" of his achievements , in fact, it is extremely difficult to give any positive assessment of Trump's policy, especially in the Middle East.

A few months ago during the election campaign, the future president promised not to interfere in the internal affairs of other states, to fight terrorism, to refuse the idea of overthrowing unwanted regimes, and not to spend the US taxpayers' trillions of dollars on such adventures. And what do we see? Trump went much further than his predecessor, Barack Obama, in foreign policy.

The U.S. missile strikes targeted at Shayrat airfield in Homs province became a great example of this. It should be mentioned that attack became surprising even for the U.S. Congress, because Trump had ordered to launch the missile strikes without any congressional approval. According to Trump, the strike was carried out in a response to deadly chemical attacks in Han-Sheyhun allegedly ordered by the Syrian government. However, in fact, the U.S. attack turned into an unprecedented violation of the sovereignty of the country and all existing norms of international law.

In addition, the recent use of the "mother of all bombs" in Afghanistan is another extreme concern. According to many experts, such Donald Trump's decisions are aimed only at demonstrating strength and express the manic desire of the United States to strengthen its position in the Middle East.

Speaking about the U.S. failed foreign policy, it also should be mentioned about the 'counter-terrorist' operation in Iraq. According to Airwars, during the U.S. military campaign, the US-led international coalition has conducted more than 20,000 missile strikes in Iraq and Syria resulted to at least 3,000 civilian casualties. However, according to unofficial reports, which are ignored by the Western media, coalition's strikes led to the deaths of more than 4,000 civilians in Mosul, in March, 2017.

So, is it possible to be proud of such 'achievements'? It also should be mentioned about the U.S. president's letter to Certain Congressional Committee Chairs officially states that "the U.S. will take additional action as necessary and appropriate, to further its important national interests."

Over time, it becomes obvious that, the head of the White House isn't able to adequately withstand the aggressive plans of the American establishment and does not intend to change the situation in the Middle East for the better. Apparently, his promises will remain empty.
