Isa was charged with funding "terrorist group" accused of carrying out blast in Sitra that killed two policemen and injured 66 others. He has categorically denied the charge.
The same court issued death penalty sentences against two suspects and whole-life sentences against 5 others. Meanwhile, it sentenced the other defendants to periods ranging from 6 months to 10 years in prison.
The court also revoked the citizenship of 8 defendants out of 24 suspects in the case.
The crackdown on al-Wefaq drew criticism from the then-United Nations chief Ban Ki-moon and prominent rights groups.
