(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The Holy Shrines of Imam Hussein and al-Abbas sent an official delegation to check the health status of Algerian journalist Samira Mouaki, after being shot by an ISIS sniper in Mosul on Feb. 12.
Ali al-Khabbaz, member of the delegation stated, “After receiving directives from the Holy Shrines of Imam Hussein and al-Abbas, we have come today to the Medical City Hospital in Baghdad to check on Samira Mouaki and to praise her sacrifice and commitment to conveying the reality to the whole world.”
The Algerian journalist was documenting victories of the Iraqi Army and PMU (Hashd al-Sha'bi) over Daesh (ISIS) terrorists.
“She was repeatedly threatened by Daesh; however, she stood steadfast and continued practicing her profession. This goes to show how she is a real sign of sacrifice,” added al-Khabbaz.
Mouaki, a journalist from Echorouk TV, was critically injured in the head near Tal Afar, west of Mosul, while surrounded by PMU fighters on the battlefield.
