(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Bahraini regime forces used force on Friday (February 17, 2017) to disperse protesters who tried to reach Pearl (Lualua) Roundabout; the cradle of popular uprising witnessed in the country in February 2011.
Hundreds of protesters took to the street in various areas surrounded by barbed fences and regime forces, yet the latter clashed with protesters in nearby residential areas, and fired teargas canisters and shotguns.
Sanabis, Al-Daih, and Jidhafs also witnessed violent clashes between protesters and regime forces, and 3 Bahrainis were reported to have been detained by authorities.
Thousands of Bahrainis demonstrated in various areas today, in commemoration of the first attack on protesters in the Pearl (Lualua) Roundabout on the dawn of Thursday February 17, 2011 known as "bloody Thursday", when forces killed 4 protesters and injured hundreds others.
