(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The group said the visit was to foster unity and peace in the among the Igbo Christians of Bauchi and the Shiite Muslims who have been untruly termed as violent.
The Islamic religious group said their mission was to correct the impression that they are intolerant to other groups and tribes in the state, Nigeria Bulletin reports.
Recall that their leader, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife were arrested after an altercation with the Nigeria army in 2015. Despite court rulings favouring their release, Zakzaky and his wife are yet to be released by the authority.
Meanwhile, Islamic Movement of Nigeria has cried out that their leader might lose his sight in jail as federal government continues neglecting his welfare.
According to the group, the doctor attending to El-Zakzaky has warned that the Sheikh might go blind if care isn't taken but the federal government and prison authority ignored his warnings.
