(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Science is “exclusive to a few countries” and knowledge is not distributed evenly across the world, said Omar Yaghi at a forum dubbed the Science and Technology Exchange Program among Muslim Countries (STEP).
The first edition of the Science and Technology Exchange Program among Muslim Countries (STEP) is underway in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur.
On the first day of the science forum and during his speech, themed the Global Science and its Emergence as a Common Language for Peace and Prosperity, Yaghi emphasized the need for promoting science and technology in the Muslim world.
He also referred the bumpy road faced by Muslim scientists and researchers to make global scientific achievements.
Started on December 19, the STEP forum is co-hosted by Malaysia’s University of Putra Malaysia (UPM) the Mustafa(pbuh) Science and Technology Foundation (MSTF).
The five-day event aimed at bringing together Muslim scientists, is expected to wrap up on December 23.
