KINGSTON, ON (AhlulBayt News Agency) - Members of the Hudson Valley Jewish Voice for Peace will host a rally in Uptown Kingston from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, to publicly rekindle their commitment to justice as part of a national day of actions organized by the Network Against Islamophobia, a project of Jewish Voice for Peace.

The rally will be at Wall and North Front streets.

Similar rallies are planned in more than two dozen cities across the country during the Jewish holiday.

Organizers say the rallies are in response to the rise of Islamophobia and racism in the United States following the presidential election. Existing policies have heightened surveillance, policing and violence against Muslims and other communities of color, domestically and internationally.

The group hopes to shine a light on increasing racism, white supremacy, Islamophobia, anti-Semitism and militarism.
