(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Stressing that the International Atomic Energy Agency should fulfil all its duties towards the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, Dr Rouhani said: "IAEA's reports should be technical and unbiased and we expect the international institution to cooperate in technical fields, transfer of peaceful nuclear technology and nuclear trade".
At the meeting with the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Yukiya Amano that was held on Sunday in Tehran, Dr Rouhani also said: "The Islamic Republic of Iran has always sought to develop positive and technical ties with the IAEA and it will continue cooperation with the international institution within the framework of its regulations".
Describing Iran's nuclear case as one of the most important and time-consuming cases of the IAEA, President Rouhani said: "Settling Iran's nuclear case, eliminating ambiguities and closing the complex case of PMD by the IAEA were great steps that established trust".
He also went on calling JCPOA a great agreement and a positive experience, adding: "JCPOA could, on one hand, bring more stability and cooperation to the region, and on the other hand, lift the unjust and false sanctions against the Iranian nation".
"As the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution explicitly announced, and based on our religious and cultural criteria, we have- and will live up to our commitments and will not begin to violate those commitments," he added.
Rouhani continued: "The Islamic Republic of Iran will live up to all its commitments until the other parties do so".
Stating that the latest U.S' move in extending Iran Sanctions Act (ISA) is against JCPOA, he said: "The path U.S has taken in dealing with Iran, will cause global distrust towards U.S".
The International Atomic Energy Agency should fulfil all its duties towards JCPOA, said the President, adding:
"IAEA's reports should be technical and unbiased and we expect the international institution to cooperate in technical fields, transfer of peaceful nuclear technology and nuclear trade".
He also said that the IAEA was one of the most important international institutions for reassuring people around the world in the field of environmental health and controlling dangerous atomic weapons, expressing hope that "Iran and the IAEA can have good cooperation in the field of manufacturing nuclear engines for marine transportation".
At the meeting, the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Yukiya Amano also stressed that Iran has lived up to all its commitments in JCPOA since its implementation.
He said: "JCPOA was a great achievement and the IAEA strongly supports it".
"It is very important for both sides to live up to their commitments made in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action," Amano added.
He also referred to the need for more cooperation between Iran and the IAEA, and added: "We assure you that the agency will continue to work as an impartial organisation".
