(AhlulBayt News Agency) - A Pakistani parliamentarian strongly believes that Muslim Ummah can overcome all challenges through unity and 'unity' is the only way the Muslim world to survive.
The Sunni member of Pakistan National Assembly, Shehryar Afridi said that bringing unity is the collective responsibility of all Muslims; otherwise it would be difficult for them to survive.
“We have to unite for our survival, it is the need of hour,” he said.
He was giving his views with a reference to Islamic Unity Week initiated by Imam Khomeini. The week in observed between 12-17th Rabi-ul-Awwal on the occasion of the Birth Anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
Shehryar Afridi said that unfortunately the Muslim world is divided and some of the rulers of Islamic world are pursuing anti-Islam polices and giving preference to their personal agendas. He noted that Islam is a religion of peace and brotherhood.
“We cannot blame others for our misdeeds; we have to first place our house in order,” he added.
The lawmaker warned that Muslims cannot survive unless they are united. “Key of the success of Ummah lies in its unity,” he viewed.
He said that all Muslims have to respect each other’s beliefs and don’t let anyone else exploit their differences. He said that bringing unity is the collective responsibility of entire Muslim world, ‘we have to fight for a common cause.’
The politician said that month of Rabi-ul-Awwal is very sacred month and gives the message of unity, peace and brotherhood. “We have to highlight the fundamentals of Islam to stabilize the Muslim world,” he said.
Member of National Assembly went on to say that it is high time for all Muslims to play an active role and promote unity among themselves.
