According to Ahlul Bayt News Agency – ABNA – Dr. Ali Larijani, chairman of the Iranian parliament, met with the chairman of The People's Consultative Assembly of Indonesia and said, "We are delighted that the chairman of the People's Consultative Assembly, leading a delegation, has traveled to Iran".
Larijani stated, "Indonesia is one of the influential and large countries of Islamic World and has always had close ties with Iran. Indonesia has always had friendly relations with Iran".
"The parliamentary relations of the two countries are also excellent and this trip will improve it ever more", He continued.
Larijani added, "Today, we mostly spoke about business opportunities between the two countries. What our Indonesian brothers were very interested in was opening of a chamber of commerce and paving the way for more business opportunities".
Pointing out that the two countries share the same view points on regional issues, Larijani clarified, "there are some crises in the region which have unstabilized some countries. Israel profits from these crises and they have to be solved politically. Islamic countries should stand against these terrorist movements. There is no tolerance against ISIS and terrorism.
Zulkifli Hasan, the People's Consultative Assembly of Indonesia stated," we thank Dr. Larijani's warm welcome. We believe that Iran is a very influential country in the region and demand Iran to make more efforts in solving the reginal crises".
"Indonesia needs 2.5 million barrels of oil and a large quantity of natural gas on daily basis. We need to have stronger ties with Iran" he then added.
"We believe that Al-Aqsa Mosque should be freed and we must defend Muslims in Myanmar through international organizations. The close relations between Iran and Indonesia and Indonesian parliament is a treasure for finding a solution for the regional crises" he continued.
Hasan then said," we too believe that the savagery of ISIS has stained the name of Islam and there should be no tolerance against ISIS and terrorism".
At the end of this meeting, the Indonesian delegation stood behind Dr. Larijani for saying prayers.
