(AhlulBayt News Agency) - A group of Shia Iraqis who organize events to commemorate Imam Hussain's (as) martyrdom met with Ayatollah Sayyed Mohammad Taqi Modarresi, a senior Shia cleric in Iraq on Saturday November 5.
During the meeting, Ayatollah Modarresi stated, "Iraqi people are fighting on two fronts."
Elsewhere in his remarks, the senior Shia cleric thanked the people of Iraq for their efforts to hold Arbaeen ceremonies, adding, "No nation is similar to Iraqis since the people of Iraq are simultaneously fighting a war with ISIS Takfiris and are also preparing to attend Arbaeen ceremonies by walking to the holy city of Karbala."
"Currently, we are witnessing a great harmony between the Arbaeen pilgrims and Iraqi soldiers; this deep spiritual relationship which exists among the Iraqis is due to their commitment and determination to perform Arbaeen rituals every year, but this year, the war against the ISIS Takfiris has prevented some Iraqis from attending the Arbaeen pilgrimage. Such devotion and bravery shall not go unrewarded," Ayatollah Modarresi concluded.
