According to Ahlul Bayt news Agency – ABNA – the international conference "Islamic identity and the challenges of globalization' was held on October 3th in presence of many guests from different Islamic countries in Dakar, Senegal.
The conference was held by a committee from "National Day of Megal". Megal day is the anniversary of " Sheikh Ahmadu Bamba's" exile, the late founder of the Sufi school of Murridieh in Senegal.
Ahlul Bayt World Assembly's Secretary- General was also present in this conference.
Hujjat al-Islam Akhtari presented the Supreme Leader of Iran's plan for revival of Islamic civilization in his speech on the first day of the conference and said, "Islamic Republic of Iran, with the leadership of Imam Khamenei and because of all the sacrifice by martyrs, is on the course to development and civilization".
He considered Imam Khamenei's plan a solution to overcome the challenges of globalization and remarked, "Globalization in its current sense is an American project to destroy cultures in different countries".
"The only way to stand against these challenges in to stand firm in the belief that Islam is a universal religion and Muslims are capable of withstanding different threats by many countries", he stressed.
"Ahlul Bayt World Assembly is ready to cooperate with African countries, especially Senegal, in Educational, cultural and economic fields", Akhtari said, in the end of his speech.
It is noteworthy that Hujjat al-Islam Akhtari held many meetings with Senegali scholars, missionaries, and prominent figures, before and after the conference.
