Conceptual translation of Quran in Russian published

The Moscow Islamic Studies Foundation has published a conceptual translation of the Holy Quran into Russian.

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The rendering has been done based on the ‘Nur al-Quran fi Tafsir al-Quran’ exegesis, which was written under the supervision of Ayatollah Seyed Kamal Faqih Imani.

ACT, one of the largest book publishing companies in Russia, has financed the publication of the new translation.

Boris Boric has done the rendering and Ilshad Nasirov, a senior Islamologist and scholar of Iran’s Institute for Research in Philosophy, edited the work.

The new translation aims to help the speakers of the Russian language better understand the Quranic concepts and teachings.

The Moscow Islamic Studies Foundation has previously published a 12-volume interpretation of the Quran in Russian.

Islam is the second most widely professed religion in Russia. Muslim minorities make up some 15 percent of the country’s population of around 145 million.
