According to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the decision for holding the program was made in a meeting of Seyyed Hassan Esmati, Iranian cultural attaché in Senegal, with Sheikh Muhammad Idris, director of the international affairs of "Ashaab Al-Yameen” school of thought.
The important role that Quranic diplomacy can play in Iran-Senegal cultural relations to develop the Muslim world’s unity was stressed in the meeting.
