Ban on renowned Pakistani Shia scholar lifted in Punjab

Punjab government had imposed a ban on many Shia religious scholars under which they were not allowed to speak at Muharram or other mourning ceremonies in any part of Punjab.

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Leader of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen of Pakistan (MWM) Allama Jafari presented a charter of demand in talks by federal interior minister and representatives of Punjab government who requested him to end his fast unto death that Allama Jafari began observing in Islamabad to protest against Shia genocide and inaction against the perpetrators of the genocide and victimization of Shia Muslims by the State authorities.

Punjab government had imposed a ban on many Shia religious scholars under which they were not allowed to speak at Muharram or other mourning ceremonies in any part of Punjab.

Nasir Shirazi, Asad Naqvi, Allama Mubarak Mousavi and Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi held a meeting with the representatives of the Punjab government where these matters came under discussion.

Punjab government’s representatives announced lifting of ban on Allama Gulfam Hashmi. They assured that action on other demands would also be made soon.
