Iran to pursue Mina disaster at international level

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranian Affairs Hassan Ghashghavi ensured international follow-up of Mina victims' rights.

(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranian Affairs Hassan Ghashghavi ensured international follow-up of Mina victims' rights.

Speaking during a cultural ceremony in Urmia, West Azerbaijan province, on Wednesday, Ghashghavi pointed to the latest legal status of Mina victims, noting that Mina incident is being followed up by international lawyers and negotiations with dispatched delegations to find the best judiciary way for the incident.

He pointed to Foreign Minister Zarif's message on Mina tragedy and also the first anniversary of the tragic event, and said Mina tragedy will be definitely followed up to restore the inalienable rights of the martyrs, victims, the injured and survivors of that tragedy, despite all obstructions of the Al Saud regime.

Elswhere in his address, Ghashghavi pointed to all-out ties between Iran and Turkey, the norhtwest neigboring country that has sharing borders with the province, saying during recent coup in Turkey, Islamic Republic of Iran stood beside Turkish officials to support democracy.

Regarding international cooperation to restore Lake Urmia, he expressed hope for further expansion of economic transactions between the two countries and said Iran welcomes Turkey's collaboration and any other foreign support in restoration of Lake Urmia.

In order to save the lake and its ecological values various restoration programs including international cooperation have been drown up and implemented so far to save the lake, Ghashghavi underlined.
