Ahlul Bayt World Assembly's Secretary-General

Akhtari: We stand by Bahraini scholars and people's side

Sheikh Akhtari, Ahlul Bayt World Assembly's Secretary-General, in a gathering of scholars and clergymen to support Sheikh Isa Qasem in Qom said that "we support Bahraini people".

According to Ahlul Bayt News Agency – ABNA – Sheikh Akhtari, Ahlul Bayt World Assembly's Secretary-General, in a gathering of scholars and clergymen to support Sheikh Isa Qasem in Qom said "This gathering has been held to answer to Bahraini scholars' call by Qom Seminary and I, as a servant of Ahlul Bayt, am grateful to Scholars and students for this.

"Bahraini people started a movement to claim their civil and basic rights from the ruling government over five years ago. This movement was and still is a peaceful one and they have shown consistence in it. The Al-Khalifah regime started to suppress the people to follow the Saudi, American, and English orders. Notwithstanding the regime's violence and killing of 160 people so far, Bahrainis never disturbed and offended the public institutions. The regime's elements burned down many mosques and libraries and many people were imprisoned and tortured for speaking out the truth" Akhtari remarked about Bahraini revolution.

Pointing out at Bahrini regime's stripping of nationals from citizenship he said "no country would ever do such action, but Al-Khalifah regime has stripped over a hundred nationals from their citizenship. Also the regime has granted citizenship to foreigners to change the demography of Bahrain. In Ramadan, the regime stripped Sheikh Isa Qasem of his citizenship while he sacrificed himself to avoid violence in demonstrations. Scholars have recently sensed that the regime's actions are mostly against the Shiite community. They asked Seminaries for help and now we, in Qom Seminary, say that Bahraini scholars and people are not alone"

In the final part of his speech, comparing Bahrain with Syria, sheikh Akhtari remarked that many Arab and Western countries support terrorists in Syria and Iraq. The same countries support Bahraini Regime.
