In the contemporary world that the arrogant powers have no compunction about committing crimes, it is the Islamic Republic’s inalienable right to enhance its defensive and offensive capabilities, the senior cleric said in an address to a large gathering of Friday prayer worshippers in Tehran.
He stressed that domestic production of various types of military equipment, including missiles, radars, drones and air defense systems, indicate the might of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Tasnim reported.
The cleric’s comments came after Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei’s emphasis on the need for strengthening the country’s military power.
Addressing Iranian Defense Ministry’s officials and experts during a visit to an exhibition of the ministry’s achievements in Tehran on Wednesday, Ayatollah Khamenei said Iran has “an inalienable and absolute right” to reinforce its defensive and offensive power.
In a world where bullying and domineering powers, who lack morality, conscience and humanity and have no qualms about invading countries and killing innocent people, are dominant, developing defensive and offensive industries is quite natural because security will not be achieved unless these powers feel the country’s might, the Leader reiterated.
Iran not forgetting Mina incidentDelivering his second sermon to this week's Friday prayers congregation in Tehran University camps, Ayatollah Kermani said, 'We will never forget the tragic and dirty-natured Minal incident.'
He said 'What a pity the holy shrines are in the hands of the Wahabis. We should pray God Almighty to save the holy shrines from Wahabis. If Hajj is performed like Ibrahimi Hajj, Muslims should not have any problem then.'
He also complained against the ill-natured Saudi rulers and said they have made conspiracy not to allow Muslims feel security beside House of God, IRNA reported.
'Instead of providing security in Saudi Arabia, they kill guests to the House of God, while preaching God Guests are welcomed to Saudi Arabia. On the other hand, you do see what they do with guests of God,' he added.
