(AhlulBayt News Agency) - The head of the office for Religious Affairs in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic said the 1st religious school of the Islamic country is planned to be launched in the near future.
According to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, Vaqar Babayev said the school will be set up at Al-Zahra (SA) Mosque of the region.
It was announced in a meeting of the official with Hussein Aghazade, Iranian cultural representative in Nakhchivan.
Babayev added that the main objective of the school is to develop religious education in the region and raise a generation of religious experts to introduce Islam.
He further expressed hope that Iran and Nakhchivan will enhance their relations and cooperation in all areas.
The Iranian official also said that Iran is ready to exchange experience with Nakhchivan in various fields including cultural programs marking the adoption of Nakhchivan as the cultural capital of the Muslim world in 2018.
Babayev also expressed willingness to participate in the programs planned to celebrate selection of the Iranian holy city of Mashhad as the cultural capital of the Muslim world in 2017.
