(AhlulBayt News Agency) - Sheikh "Haj Ghorban Gholampour", one of the Shiite cultural and religious activists in Herat has been detained under false accusations.
Sheikh Gholampor who is responsible to divide Ayatollah Khamenei' and Sistani's stipends in Herat seminary schools and is also an Imam in one of the mosques in the city, has been detained on charges of treason and connections with Iran.
For quite a while now, Shiite cultural and religious activists in Afghanistan have been arrested and interrogated by authorities under false accusations. A few days ago Sheikh "Sayyed Younes Alavi", one of the Imams in Herat was assassinated and martyred on the way back home after night prayers.
Following Sheikh Sayyed Younes Alavi's martyrdom Sheikh "Sayyed Isa Hossaini Mazari" in a statement said: not only security officials do not try to improve security out of negligence, laziness or tolerance, but also cause the martyrdom of figures like Sheikh Sayyed Younes Alavi. This incident signifies the serious weakness in security officials in Herat. Nevertheless presence and efforts of people like Mr. Alavi improves security and quality of life. Security officials are responsible to protect such people of high value and should do their utmost best not to let these unique gems perish and drown in blood.
