AhlulBayt News Agency - The Bahraini German organization for Human rights and Democracy has sent an urgent message to the German minister of foreign affairs Mr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier and the German ambassador in Bahrain Mr. Alfred Simms-Protz in which the organisation warns of the dangerous escalations taking place in Bahrain.
The message mentions that the Bahraini authorities has lately dissolved Al-Wefaq organisation and seized all its assets on 17 June, 2016 after extending the sentence of its secretary general Ali Salman on May 30, 2016 from 4 to 9 years.
And as a clear sign of the targeting of the Shia band, that Bahraini authorities are preventing clerics from holding prayers at mosques and apprehending some of them.
The message focuses on the biggest violation of them all. In a move that threatens civil peace in Bahrain, an act was issued by the king on June 20, 2016 ruled the denationalisation and exile of the highest Shia cleric in Bahrain Sheikh Isa Qassim.
The letter emphasizes that these violations resemble a threat to civil peace in Bahrain, and warns of the consequences after the authorities declared that Sheikh Isa Qassim is set on trial on July 27, 2016.
Therefore the Bahraini German organization appealed to the Germain officials to intervene with the Bahraini authorities to stop targeting Shia Muslims in their political and religious associations and to permit the freedoms of thought, association, and religion. And to preserve civil peace which became threatened after targeting the highest figure of the Bahraini Shia band and opposition.
