Members of the Academic forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria under the distinguished leadership of his eminence Shaikh Ibraheem Zakzaky (H) are here today (17nt July 2016) to mourn for the seventh month of the Zaria massacre, exactly seventh month since the bloodiest massacre in the Nigerian history, committed by the Nigerian army against unarmed citizens of the country. It is exactly seven months since the day on which hundreds of our members were siege at Husainiyyah Baqiyyatullah and the residence of our spiritual leader at Gyallesu Zaria Kaduna state.
A monumental disaster visited our country on 12-12-2015 were the fully armed Nigerian forces extra judicially massacred 1000+ armless, defenseless and innocent citizens in Zaria Kaduna state, who are members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria. The Nigerian army firstly attacked Husainiyya Bakiyyatullah were dozens of citizens' life were lost.
After that, they also attack the residence of Sheikh Zakzaky which is located more than 10km away from Husainyyah , and finally the attack on Darur Rahma and demolitions of other places including Cemeteries.
Among the atrocities committed by the Nigerian army to the members of the Islamic movement in Nigeria were:
1. killing additional three biological sons of Sheikh Zakzaky ( Hammad, Ali Haidar and Humaid)
making a total of six if we sum it up with the initial three killed by the Nigerian army in July , 2014 (Ahmad, Hamid and Mahmud )
2. Burning injured members of IMN including Sheikh`s biological sister to death .
3. Dumping of the massacred bodies in mass grave without the permission of their family and without proper funeral arrangement according to Islamic Laws.
4. Shooting Shaikh Zakzaky and his wife Malama Zinatudden Ibraheem several times.
Moreover, since the carnage, the leader of the Islamic Movement was been illegally detained without trial or any court charge along with hundreds of the Islamic Movement members.
Lastly, the true believer and the lover of humanity has only one option; to stand steadfast for truth and justice . We demand unconditional release of our leader Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, his wife Malama Zeenatudden Ibraheem and other members of the Islamic Movement.
