Senior Iranian clerics call for high turnout in Quds Day rallies

Several senior Iranian clerics in Qom on Thursday called for a high turnout in the Quds Day rallies in support of Palestinian people.

AhlulBayt News Agency - Several senior Iranian clerics in Qom on Thursday called for a high turnout in the Quds Day rallies in support of Palestinian people.

Ayatollah Nasser Makarem-Shirazi, Ayatollah Hossein Nouri-Hamedani, Ayatollah Abdollah Javadi Amoli and Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Ali Alavi Gorgani are among the senior clerics who have invited all the Iranian people nationwide to attend the Quds Day rallies.

The senior clerics also described Israel as a cancerous tumor that should be wiped off the map.

They also urged all Muslims and freedom lovers to attend the Quds Day rallies across the world.

The senior clerics believed the arrogant Zionists and their agents should understand that they are doomed to collapse before the unity, dignity and power of the Islamic Ummah.

The International Quds Day is an annual event held on the last Friday of Ramazan, initiated by the late Founder of the Islamic Republic Imam Khomeini in 1979 as a way to express solidarity with the Palestinians and underscore importance of the holy Quds to Muslims.

It is also a chance to show Muslims hatred towards atrocities of the Zionist regime against the Palestinian nation. This year, Quds Day is on Friday July 1.
