AhlulBayt News Agency - A prominent Australian member of the ISIS has been killed in an international coalition airstrike in Iraq, the US and Australian officials confirmed.
Australian Attorney-General George Brandis said that Neil Prakash, Australia’s most wanted man, was killed in a US airstrike in northern Iraq last Friday night.
Prakash has been a key player in inspiring violent acts in Australia and he has recruited several Australian nationals for the terrorist group.
Brandis said that his death was significant in the fight against terrorism on home soil and in intimidating the ISIS recruitment. He also revealed that Australia cooperated with the US for the identification and the location of Prakash.
"He was actively involved in both the recruitment and in encouraging domestic terrorism in Australia,” Brandis said. "He was the principal Australian citizen reaching back from the Middle East into Australia and particularly into terrorist networks in both Melbourne and Sydney.”
USA also confirmed the death of Farhad Jabar's sister, who killed the police officer Curtis Cheng in Sydney last year.
