Winners of 23rd international Quran competition in Egypt Announced

The top participants in three categories of the 23rd international Quran competition in Egypt were announced.

According to Al-Wafd and Dotmsr websites, Ahmad Yasri from Ismailia and Abdul Mun’im Al-Qasrawi from Al-Beheira governorates of Egypt succeeded to win the first and the second ranks in the first category.

Ahmad Yasri is a dermatologist and recites the Holy Quran in three styles. He memorized the entire Quran at the age of 15.

He was the fourth winner of the Dubai Holy Quran Award in 2010, the third winner of Bahrain’s international Quran competitions in 2015 and the top winner of Al-Mahir Quran competition in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia in 2015.

Abdul Mun’im Al-Qasrawi is a graduate of the Islamic Disseminations Faculty of Al-Azhar University and memorized the entire Quran when he was 12.

Ahmad Barakat from Algeria, Muhammad Talab from Iraq and Abdul Rahman Ahmad from Kuwait are the third to the fifth rank winners of the first category of Egypt’s international competition.

Amru Khalil, a 9-year old girl from Al-Beheira Governorate and the 10-year old Bilal Muhammad Al-Sayyed from Kafr el-sheikh Governorate of Egypt are respectively the first and the second winners of the third category.

The winners will be awarded in the closing ceremony of the competition to be held on April 14.

The 23rd edition of international Quran competitions in Egypt has been underway since April 10 in Sharm el-sheikh in South Sinai Governorate.

The international Quranic event includes four categories of memorization of the entire Quran, memorization of 15 Juzes (parts) of Quran for non-Arabic speakers, memorization of the entire Quran for teenagers and memorization of three Juzes for the disabled.
