In a meeting with Sayyed Mahdi Sadeqi, the governor of Qom province, Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani said: “Unfortunately, currently the resistance economy is only mentioned as mere slogan in the media and we are hopeful that the resistance economy, like other issues, will not be forgotten in society.”

He added: “If the resistance economy is implemented, certainly the unemployment rate will decrease, factories will be supported and the people’s livelihood problems will go away.”

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said that the economies of the Islamic world should not be dependent on non-Muslim countries because God placed within humankind certain characteristics and if man recognizes these characteristics and does not let them flourish, he will not prosper.

“Therefore, if man does make efforts to allow his talents to flourish, he will not perish.”

His Eminence referred to US President Barack Obama’s statement “Iran should either compromise or give up” and said: “This is precisely the same thing that Yazid said to Imam Husayn.”

Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani stressed: “By implementing the resistance economy, the Iranian nation will definitely demonstrate to the West [the slogan] ‘woe unto the wretched!’ and is will never give in to humiliation and the resistance economy will indeed save the country.”
