A group of Somalian students in Cape Town, South Africa, gifted copies of the holy Quran and religious books to a number of mosques and traditional Quran memorization schools in the city.
The Quran copies and books were gifted in a ceremony to the imams of mosques and teachers of the schools which are affiliated to the Somali Association of South Africa.
The ceremony was also attended by the officials in charge of religious affairs in the Somali community in the Western Cape and other provinces of South Africa.
Head of the Somali Students Association in South Africa said that by gifting the books, the students aimed to support the mosques and Quranic schools.
The Somali community in South Africa is one of the most active groups in the country in business and trading.
