Dar al-Hujjah Portico, a Rich Treasure of Islamic Art

Pang Sen, Chinese ambassador in Tehran who had come, with the Iranian president, to the holy city of Mashhad visited different courtyards, central and carpet museums, and Dar al-Hujjah portico of Imam Reza’ (A.S.) Holy Shrine.

Saying that Razavi Holy Shrine is very rich and glorious in terms of historical, cultural, and artistic perspectives, he said, “This visitation of the Razavi Holy Shrine was a very valuable opportunity to get me more familiar with the history and architecture of this sacred place”.

“The architecture and buildings of this holy place are really beautiful and they represent the unique aspects of Islamic architecture”, he added.

Chinese ambassador stated, “Cultures of the west and the east have got many differences and Razavi Holy Shrine has provided us with some unique aspects of culture and civilization of a group of people which were very amazing”.

The Chinese ambassador, visiting the Razavi Complex for the second time, recognized the art works at the Dar al-Hujjah Portico as the rich treasure of the Islamic art and stressed, “This place is a very unique store of valuable heritages of architecture, culture, and historical identity of a nation which has been left over the centuries”.

The supervisor of Astan Quds Razavi’s General Office of Public Relations who was accompanying the Chinese ambassador referred to the great achievements of Astan Quds Razavi and reminded, “Astan Quds Razavi, as one of the biggest endowment organizations after the victory of the Islamic
Revolution, has been successful, under the great supervision and guidance of Ayatollah Waiz Tabasi who is an effective revolutionary person by himself, to accomplish many enormous achievements in the areas of science, research, cultures, and economy”.

Seyyed Ahmad Hashem Abadi said, “Astan Quds Razavi’s activities in the areas of medicine, health, culture, economy, and research have been developed in a way that it is now considered as one of the effective organizations in the country and region”.

Referring to the annual visitations of over 25 million pilgrims from the Razavi Holy Shrine, he stressed, “Enlarging and developing the sacred premises of the Razavi Shrine from 120000 square meters to over one million square meters and also offering various welfare, cultural and religious services to different groups of people are some other services of Astan Quds Razavi”.

It should be mentioned that a beautiful painting of the Razavi Shrine’s Dar al-Hujjah Portico was awarded, by the supervisor of Astan Quds Razavi’s General Office of Public Relations, to the Chinese ambassador in Iran, at the end of this visit.
