AhlulBayt News Agency - As the Bahraini uprising's fifth anniversary approaches, thousands of Bahrainis took to the streets on Friday (February 5, 2016) in different villages across Bahrain expressing their adherence to the demands made on February 14, 2011.
Protestors held photos of detained Sheikh Ali Salman, Secretary-General of Al-Wefaq National Islamic Society, and marched through the streets following Friday's prayers in Al-Diraz, chanting "holding back is impossible". They also held banners that read "hasten to the revolution" and "We shall not be defeated".
Another protest was staged in Al-Diah, west of the Bahraini capital Manama under the slogan "The Week of Will", during which protestors insisted on taking part in the "Al-Nimr Rebellion" that February 14 Coalition had announced.
Bahraini regime forces cracked down on protests, firing shotgun pellets and tear gas canisters in an attempt to disperse demonstrators in Sitra.
Eyewitness said that security forces deliberately sabotaged the properties of citizens after raiding residential areas.
