The local Bahraini Al-Wasat newspaper said that the salaries of 3,154 officials in the private sector of the Kingdom of Bahrain are equivalent to what approximately 100,000 workers in the private sector earn, according to the data of the General Authority for Social Insurance.
According to this information published by the newspaper, those who earn more than 4,000 Bahraini dinars in the private sector are about 3,154 officials. The data; however, didn't mention the maximum rate of their salaries only stating that they earn more than 4,000 dinars. Other official reports submitted to the House of Representatives indicate there is a retired private sector employee who earns 8,900 dinars, which means that the salaries of the working officials in the private sector amount to more than that.
The information shows that the number of Bahraini officials in the private sector whose salaries exceed 4,000 dinars are 1,226, while non Bahrainis reach 1,928.
The data also confirmed that the employees who are working in the private sector and are paid less than 200 dinars are about 363,666 workers, 3824 of them are Bahraini, and 359,842 are non Bahrainis. The authority didn't identify the least salary and only mentioned that it's less than 200 dinars. However, many workers say that there are salaries less than 100 dinars.
Regarding the retirees, official data revealed that 200 retirees are paid salaries that amount to a total of 10 million dinars per year by the General Authority for Social Insurance.
According to the data of the General Authority for Social Insurance, the number of retirees whose salaries range between 3,000 and 9,000 dinars per month are about 200 persons and the total of their salaries reaches about 10 million dinars per year.
The salaries of 300 retirees of the highest incomes are equivalent to the salaries of 6,000 retirees of the lowest incomes.
The data presented by the Social Insurance Authority is a statistical report on the number of living and dead retirees with respect to the retirement salary until April 2014. This statistical report was sent to the House of Representatives and was enclosed within the record of its meeting held on December 11, 2015.
Based on the figures, the total number of retirees in both public and private sectors until April 2014 reached more than 43,000 paid salaries amounting up to 23.22 million dinars per month, and about 278 million dinars per year.
The number of retirees whose salaries range between 1,500 and 900 dinars is 1,818, representing 4% of the total number of retirees and 17% of total salaries.
Meanwhile, the retirees whose salaries are less than 300 dinars are 20,000, representing 46% of the total number of retirees and 20% of total salaries.
As for those whose salaries range between 300 and 500 dinars, their number reached 7,679 and representing about 18% of the total number of retirees and earning 13% of total salaries.
Those whose salaries range between 500 and 700 dinars reached about 5,426, representing 12.58% of the total number of retirees and earning 14% of total salaries.
However, the retirees whose salaries range between 700 and 1,000 dinars reached about 4,501, representing 10.44% of the total number of retirees and earning 16.40% of total salaries.
The newspaper concluded its report by stating that while those whose salaries range between 1,000 and 1,500 dinars are about 3,665 retirees, representing about 8.5% of the total number of retirees and earning around 19% of the total number of retirement salaries.
