Results of Islamic Unity Conference should be Send to Int'l Communities: Ammar Hakim

Giving speech in the opening ceremony of the 29th edition of the Islamic Unity Conference, Seyyed Ammar Hakim, Chairman of Iraq Supreme Parliament extended his congratulation on Islam Prophet’s (PBUH) and Imam Sadeq’s (PBUH) anniversary birthday.

Iraqi cleric paid tribute to Iranian authorities and also the officials of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought for mounting the Islamic Unity Conference stressing the event is a proper time and opportunity for holding talks over the issue of unity among religious clerics.

"Islam Prophet (PBUH) followed no purpose for his own interest," said Ammar Hakim stressing despite of all the problems in his way, Muhammad Prophet (PBUH) could advance his own objectives inviting human kind to the divine religion of Islam.

"If a society get dispersed and plunged into a conflict, then its danger threats the whole of Islam," pointed out Chairman of Iraq Supreme Parliament.

According to Ammar Hakim, "for countering extremism and Takfiri groups, holding such conferences will not suffice and the result of these gatherings should be sent to Islamic Organizations."

The 29th edition of the International Islamic Unity Conference opened in Tehran on Sunday morning with hundreds of Shiite and Sunni scholars as well as ministers of Muslim countries in attendance.

Attendees at the conference include educated Muslim figures, ministers of Islamic countries, clerics, scholars and representatives of scientific and cultural circles from Iran and across the world.

The main purpose of the event is to discuss ways to promote unity and solidarity in the Islamic world and bring closer views of Muslim clerics and scholars’ on diverse religious issues.
