Ayatollah Nouri Hamadani has once again condemned the attack on Shi’as in Nigeria and their leader, Shaykh Ibrahim al-Zakzaky, and emphasized the reaction of the international community and so-called human rights claims in regard to this crime.
Speaking at the beginning of his advanced jurisprudence course at Qom’s Grand Mosque on Saturday, Grand Ayatollah Hoseyn Nouri-Hamadani today renewed his condemnation of the attack on Shi’as in Nigeria and their leader, Shaykh Ibrahim al-Zakzaky, and emphasized the reaction of the international community and so-called human rights claims in regard to this crime, saying: “Certainly, Saudi Arabia and the Zionists were involved in this issue.”
On December 12, more than a dozen people were killed after clashes erupted between the Nigerian army and Shi’a Muslims in Zaria, Kaduna State. The military accused the Shi’as of attempting to assassinate the chief of the Nigerian army staff.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani also called for the identification, trial and punishment of the perpetrators of this massacre.
In another part of his lecture, the renowned teacher in the Islamic Seminary of Qom rejected the United Nations’ report on human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran, stating that it was prepared based on false accusations.
He stated that these reports are biased and noted how the killing of innocent people in Yemen, Bahrain, Nigeria and the besieged Gaza Strip are not considered as human rights violations but the dealing of Western governments with those involved in corruption and the abusers of human rights violations is not mentioned.
Ayatollah Nouri-Hamadani said the Islamic Republic of Iran is based on religious principles and values and has never nor will not pay attention to such malicious reports.
