In the light of the hate crime that the Islamic Center of Palm Beach (ICPB) was subjected to last week, the center held a program on Saturday to educate and clarify true Islam and its condemnation of ISIS and other such terror groups that are often equated by many as byproduct of the teachings of the Holy Qur’an.
ICPB said it is witnessing a spike in anti-Islam and anti-Muslim sentiments since the Paris and San Bernardino terrorist attacks.
"Muslims are being painted with a broad brush, which has resulted in some people attacking and harming innocent Muslim men and women because of their faith as well as a number of Mosques and Islamic centers around the nation that are being vandalized. We need to clear the smoke and erase the ignorance, misnomers and clarify the reality of those who are misrepresenting Muslims and the Islamic Faith."
ICPB says their open house was an opportunity for anyone to come and voice any questions they might have about the religion of Islam and Muslims.
Since March 2010, the ICPB has been responsible for organizing and hosting conferences clarifying the Islamic condemnation of terrorism, including their most recent three-day seminar in March 2015.
