Chairman of Iran's Expediency Council has condemned the Nigerian military’s bloody crackdown on the Shia Muslim community in the African country.
Ayatollah Rafsanjani denounced the recent raid on the house of the revered Nigerian Shia cleric, Ibrahim al-Zakzaky, and the killing of a large number of Shias in the country.
He said that Nigerian government and army not just are acting weakly against Boko Haram terrorists, but they also raids on Shiite region and the house of "effective, educated and peaceful" character of Muslims, Sheikh Zakzaky, and kills innocent Muslim civilians.
Ayatollah Rafsanjani emphasized that Nigeria is important district for the western countries and said there is incorrect thought about the risk of Shiite and Iran's interference in Nigeria which is baseless.
