Imam Hussain's flag hoisted on the dome of Husainiyyah of Zaria, Nigeria / Pics

Ahlul Bayt News Agency - Heralding the fall of new Lunar year 1437 and commencement of Ashura Mourning gatherings, thousands of people dressed in black witnessed the change of flags on the dome of Husainiyyah Baqiyyatullah of Zaria under the Leadership of Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky.

The black flag of Imam Hussain and al-Abbas gifted by custodian of Imam Hussain holy shrine to leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, Sheikh Zakzaky.

The flags were hoisted on the dome of the Husainiyyah on Wednesday the 1st of Muharram 1437 (14/10/15). The Leader of the Islamic Movement described the action as renewal of allegiance to Imam Hussain (pbuh).

After flag hoisting ceremony and sunset prayers, the first mourning gathering was held where Sheikh Zakzaky spoke on Ashura mourning and Hijrah.
