An international conference titled “Islam, Mercy for the World” will be held from October 13 to 16 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
According to the website of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, this was announced in the opening ceremony of an international exhibition held as a sideline program of the conference at Nihzat al-Ulama Central Building in the city.
The ceremony was attended by Ma’rouf Amin, head of the executive council of Nihzat al-Ulama Organization, Aqeel Siraj, head of the organization, Dhulkifli Hassan, head of the People’s Consultative Assembly, members of the assembly, scholars and ambassadors of different countries and Iranian cultural attaché in Indonesia.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Haj Mansour Ramli, head of the organizing committee of the conference said that the international event aims to introduce Islam as a mercy for the world.
Two scholarly seminars titled “Strengthening Islamic Economic and Financial Systems for the World” and “Radical Terrorism Damages Islam, the Mercy for the World” will be held on the sideline of the conference.
He added that the program has been planned following the guidelines of Jokowi, the President of Indonesia who, addressing the 60th commemoration of Asian-African Conference, highlighted the importance of creating a new economic system and taking measures to stop violence, radical acts and terrorism.
Ramli noted that the conference aims to stress the importance of a world without violence which provides a peaceful and safe life for human being particularly Muslims and the importance of revival of mosques in the globalization era.
There are 1305000 mosques in Indonesia but there are not well-educated preachers in most of them and the programs of the mosques are not attractive enough to meet the needs of the society, he said.
Muhammad Hassan Zamani and Mesbahi Muqaddam will be the two Iranian scholars who will present speeches in the two seminars.
