US, UK, Saudi Arabia Supporting Al Khalifa Regime to Suppress People: Bahraini Activist

A Bahraini activist underlined that Washington, London and Riyadh support the Al Khalifa regime in its suppression of opposition forces.

A Bahraini activist underlined that Washington, London and Riyadh support the Al Khalifa regime in its suppression of opposition forces.

"The Bahraini regime enjoys the support of many and that is why it continues its suppression of the Bahraini people; first there is the support of the Al Saud, then it is due to the US support and finally the UK government is helping the Al Khalifa regime," Ali al-Zarqami said on Sunday.

Al-Zarqami reiterated that the Bahraini people are able to defeat the Al Khalifa regime.

On Tuesday, a political activist underlined that the Manama regime's heavy-handed tactics have failed to intimidate the dissidents and people will never compromise with Al Khalifa regime under any condition.

"The Bahraini people will continue staging protests across the country against large-scale human rights violations of the Al Khalifa regime," Ebrahim Salman al-Alawi, member of Bahrain's Ahrar Movement said.

He reiterated that the Bahraini regime's suppression of its people emanates from the colonial nature of the regime.

Al-Alawi called on the United Nations and other international bodies to put the Bahraini regime under pressure to put an end to its suppressions and political arrests.

In late June, another Bahraini political activist, Hamed al-Bahrani, said that the Manama regime would have no other choice but to honor the people's peaceful demands.

"The Al Khalifa regime has to yield to the people's will and demand and give up power," al-Bahrani said at the time.

He noted that the Bahraini regime could no longer conceal its crimes and the Bahraini people are no longer afraid of the Al Khalifa's suppression, adding that popular protests would be intensified in the coming days.

The Bahraini regime has been suppressing peaceful demonstrations by anti-government protesters across Bahrain since mid-February 2011.

Violence against the defenseless people escalated after a Saudi-led conglomerate of police, security and military forces from the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) member states - Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Oman and Qatar - were dispatched to the tiny Persian Gulf kingdom on March 2011, to crack down on peaceful protestors for the Manama regime.

So far, hundreds of protesters have been killed, hundreds have gone missing and thousands of others have been injured by the Bahraini and Saudi soldiers. Thousands of people, including opposition party and religious leaders as well as renowned human rights activists, have been arrested while hundreds more have been sent to exile. All international human rights bodies have condemned the Al-Khalifa regime for exercising extreme violence against peaceful protests.
