Ahlul Bayt News Agency - The 6th General Assembly of Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly was kicked off today Saturday with the presence of Iranian President Hasan Rouhani and hundreds of senior Shiite religious scholars and clerics from 130 countries.
The 6th General Assembly of Ahlul Bayt (AS) World Assembly was kicked off on Saturday, Aug 15 with Iran President Hasan Rouhani's speech. The event attended by Mr. Akhtari, the Secretary General of the Ahlul Bayt World Assembly and other featured clerics.
The Hezbolalh undersecretary Sheikh Naim Qassem, Iraqi Vice President Nouri al-Maliki, Secretary General of Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq Ammar al-Hakim, senior advisor to the Supreme Leader for international affairs Ali Akbar Velayati and a number of ranking officials are among the guests.
HujjatulIslam Muhammad Salar, the Chief of Staff of the 6th General Assembly of the Ahlul Bayt World Assembly, in an exclusive interview with ABNA reporter explained more details about the programs of the conference.
He described these General Assemblies as the most important program of the Ahlul Bayt World Assembly and said: By this meeting, we could reach our main goals: to define fundamental lines of the Assembly activities; to being aware of the problems that Ahlul Bayt followers have been faced in recent years; to take advantage of the capabilities and abilities that we have in Shiite world; and to determine the next strategies of the Assembly.
He also said that this year about 1,800 Shiite elite from 130 countries have been invited to the meeting.
Muhammad Salar also announced the twelve commissions of the Assembly as follows:
Regional Commissions: The Commission of West, East and Southeast Asia; The Commission of Central Asia and the Caucasus; The Commission of European Countries; The Commission of American Countries; The Commission of Arabic countries" and The Commission of African Countries.
Thematic Commissions: Missionary and Cultural Commission and Seminaries; Commission of Politics, Laws and Parties; Commission of Welfare and Economic Affairs; Commission of Women and Family; Commission of Youth and Academicians; and Commission of Media, Cyberspace and Social networks.
It is noteworthy that there will be 50 Shiite ladies in the 6th General Assembly of the Ahlul bayt World Assembly from three geographical areas of the world.
The four day event hosted by Iranian capital Tehran is to underway up to Tue August 15 18.
