AhlulBayt News Agency - During the 8th International Congress of Imamia Muslim Medics, Minister of Health of Iran in a meeting with the World's Muslim physician held in city of Mashhad said: I am very pleased that you have chosen Iran and particularly city of Mashhad for the International Congress of the Imamia Medics, as we heard in traditions that ‘certainly purest followers will successful to visit holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS)’.
Doctor Qazi Hasheimzadeh pointed to the saying of Imam Khomeini that the university is the core of all developments and said: in today world a country or a nation will be powerful and in progress if it has scholars and certainly without science we can’t be successful in the world. So if Muslim be a scientist certainly he is strong as well.
He said coincided with the victory of the Islamic revolution we had 5 medical universities but today 91 university are active, and also the average life expectancy at the beginning of victory of Islamic Revolution was 55 years, but Now it is 73 years.
Health Minister said despite increased longevity in Iran we see that more than 50 percent of the deaths occur due to heart attacks and brain strokes.
Doctor Hashemi added: Unlike the pasts that most of deaths were because of communicable diseases but today many of the deaths are due to physical inactivity and poor eating habits.
Dr. Hashemi said: As a Health Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran I am proud to the Shia doctors around the world and internal medicine physicians as the medical world figures.
Doctor Hashemi added that the creation of international university for Shia Muslims students can be a valuable work in the medical field.
At the end martyr in a holy war to keep alive the memory of the doctors said that Iranian doctors are so conscientious that the Baathist regime of Saddam's invasion of Iran with a sense of responsibility to the front lines to defend Islam and Iran .
