Ahlul Bayt News Agency - Senior Professor "Ali Ghaiyoomi", at the beginning of his speech expressed his gratitude to the Iranian authorities for providing presence of the doctors in the city of Mashhad and said: "Beside our discussion of medical issues we can benefit from the spirituality of the holy city and the shrine of Imam Reza (AS)."
"We have not a full program like this congress for a long time so hopefully this event could be a good opportunity for us to exchange our experiences," he added.
Professor Ghaiyoomi pointed to the activities of Imamia Medics organization and said: "Our organization has done many humanitarian activities in the past and we hope to build a foundation to be more productive in the future."
In this ceremony Haider Zaidi was introduced as the new head of the organization.
The 8th International Congress of World Muslim Medics kicked off in the holy city of Mashhad, Iran today 30th July 2015.
In this congress 300 Shiite doctors from around the world will participate in the scientific meetings, workshops, pilgrimage and cultural programs.
The conference will include scientific sessions covering lectures and posters presentations, sightseeing, paying tribute to holy shrines, visits to historic places, meetings with scholars, and brain-storming sessions among others.
