Ahlul Bayt News Agency - The Bahraini National Democratic Opposition urged for the immediate release of Fadhil Abbas, Secretary General of the National Democratic Gathering Society.
Abbas was sentenced to five years in prison for reasons related to freedom of expression and opinion. The decision highlights the Authority’s lack of desire to abandon the security solution to the political problem in the country.
The National Democratic Opposition stresses the urgent need for a détente through the release of all political prisoners.
It is also most crucial today to double efforts to face the local and regional consequences of terrorism that hit Kuwait, most recently, and is threatening Bahrain and the Persian Gulf Arab countries.
These challenges make national unity most vital today. Citizens must be real participants in the development of the country’s security and political status in an environment of inclusive openness.
