AhlulBayt News Agency - Sheikh Ahmad Al Tayyeb, grand Mufti of Al Azhar University issued a statement slamming the Friday attack on Kuwait's Imam Sadeq (AS) mosque which led to the killing of dozens of Shia prayers.
He said," Such terror attacks which violate human rights and desecrates the holy sites are not only against Islamic teachings but are also slammed in all holy religions."
Ahmad al Tayyeb demanded unity of all Muslims to uproot DAESH (ISIS, ISIL, IS) terrorists warning against plots of the group to create religious intrigues and sectarian clashes.
Tayyeb expressed condolences to Sabah and the families of the victims. He voiced Azhar's support for the Kuwaiti leadership and people in their fight against terrorism and extremism.
The Grand Imam said that such terror attacks would not discourage Muslims from fighting these radical ideologies that contradict with Islam's "peaceful" teachings. Tayyeb warned against being misled by the schemes which seek to foment sectarian strife and conflicts.
At least 26 people have been martyred and more than 220 others injured in a bomb attack at Imam Sadiq Mosque in Kuwait City.
Following the incident, the Takfiri ISIL terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack.
