Ayatollah Lotfollah Safi Golpayegani on Saturday condemned terrorist attack on Imam Sadeq Mosque in Kuwait City against fasting worshippers performing Friday prayers killing 27 worshipers and injuring 200 others.
In a statement Ayatollah Safi said a number of worshipers in the holy month of Ramadan attained martyrdom following savage attack made by a group of infidels.
'We strongly condemn the attacks made by the enemies of religion and humanity and express grief over missing such beloved martyrs,' he said.
The terrorist group of ISIL has claimed the responsibility for the attack.
The Kuwaiti government declared day of mourning in Kuwait.
In a telephone conversation with his Kuwaiti counterpart on Friday, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif condemned the attack and sympathized with the government and nation of Kuwait on the human tragedy.
