On Friday May 29th, Kaduna chapter of Academic Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria under the leadership of his eminence Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky organized a one day awareness lecture on Imam Khomeini's life and struggle.
The lecture held at at SUG Conference Hall Kaduna Polytechnic (main campus) at about 11:00 a.m.
The speaker, Pastor Yohana D. Y. Buru, also chairman 'Peace Revival and Reconciliation Committee (NGO), Kaduna chapter, delivered lecture on impact of Imam Khomeini's teachings and life struggle.
Pastor Yohana Buru described Imam Khomeini as the most influential leader from the Islamic perspective whose teachings and life struggle had impact not only the Islamic World but the World imperialists. Islam was inspired to the Prophet (S) which later the teachings and guardianship handed to the Caliphs and later to his real heir, Imam Ali (A) passed to the 12th Imam and now to the Ulama of the present World. From these chronological era, Imam Khomeini was the only outstanding, unique leader not only to the context of Islam, Shi'ites or Shi'ism rather, he was more influential to the World of Islam which has to do with Sunni Islam and other Islamic ideology. He explained.
Pastor Buru noted out that some are seeing Imam Khomeini as a leader, Philosopher who is talking only about Islamic, but many adherents from World intellectualists had seen him as an embodiment of knowledge, concept and principles and comprehended him as somebody who had manifested an exemplary leadership needed to set a peace in the World today. He was able to bring solutions from the Islamic perspective and threw it to the World.
When the Imam is viewed from the issues regarding diversities in terms of race, religion and ethnic group in the World today, he used his foresight and bring solutions from the Islamic perspective and throw it to the World. He says, " It is now left for World imperialists and enemies of Imam of Imam Khomeini to accept the right model and truth that will bring peace, unity, mutual understanding within Islamic diversities and even Christianity.
Pastor Buru at the end of his lecture lamented how some Islamic scholars nowadays are belittling the exemplary model of Imam Khomeini simply because he is a Persian, Iranian and Shi'ism in conviction.
