Australian police announced that it had stopped 12 women tried to leave the country to join the ISIS, while warned of ISIS use of social media to attract youths to join the group in Iraq and Syria.
Victoria Police assistant commissioner Tracy Linford said that “The Australian police arrested 12 women from one city in Australia; they wanted to leave the country to join ISIS in Iraq and Syria,” pointing out that “most of those attracted by the terrorist organizations are young, and the isolated population are affected by propaganda transmitted by the means of social communication belonging to the extremist organization “.
“ISIS uses misleading advertising to convince young girls and women that it will offer them a romantic life,” asserting that, “the reality is different from that completely, too many of them were sexually enslaved and they are living in appalling conditions, with their movements heavily restricted,” Linford added.
