Ayatollah Javadi Amoli: Saudi regime not qualified as ‘custodian of Harems’

A senior cleric has said according to Quranic verses, the ruler of the ‘land of revelation’ should be men of piety.

A senior cleric has said according to Quranic verses, the ruler of the ‘land of revelation’ should be men of piety.

Ayatollah Javadi Amoli condemned Saudi regime’s crimes in Yemen in his Exegesis of the Quran seminary class on Tuesday and urged the emancipation of Mecca and Medina from the ‘servitude and the looting of the Saudi regime.’

Ayatollah Javadi Amoli pointed to interpretation of some Quranic verses which directly touched the issue of custodianship of the Holy Harems and its Quranic attributes; “according to exegesis, the custodianship of the land of revelation should be handed to men of piety; the custodian of Ka’ba should be a pious man; "Its custodians are only the Godwary" (8:34)” added Javadi Amoli. “The current Saudi custodians however are the decedents of those who turned it to a house of idols and indulged themselves in drunken revelry; those were the grand-grand fathers of the current custodians, whom lost in gambling the custodianship or traded it for few wineskins,” asserted he, referring to the early history of the House.

Ayatollah Javadi Amoli called for not to trust upon some countries with a claim in Islam and to rise against the Saudi family’s servitude and looting of the Harems and their emancipation; “the Islamic nations should not wait for concrete action by their governments; rather, they should take the matter into their own hands, which would be properly titled ‘the Greater Striving’,” he demanded.

He depicted Wahhabism a grave threat to Islamic culture; “if a nation’s beliefs and thinking faculties are taken hostage, they will be very similar to Saudi regime, since an enslaved and nullified religion lacks the vigor and the capacity to rouse the masses,” said the senior cleric.

Ayatollah Javadi Amoli urged a review of its conditions; “the affairs of Islam should be based on the freedom of religion from the servitude; Quran should be freed; the rationality should be freed; only after that would the meaning of the Quranic verse be understood properly; that is, freedom of Holy Harems from the servitude of Al-Saud family,” he concluded.
